"Many of our clients believe that dog trainers' dogs are perfect. I used to think so too. In fact, when I started training, I was embarrassed to tell people that I was a dog trrainer because my dogs weren't perfect. The more trainers' dogs I met, the more I realized that dog aficionados love dogs as they are and are generally pretty accepting of normal behavior, even when it doesn't match the societal standard of a good dog. It was such a relief to me to see that I didn't need perfect robot dogs to be a good trainer!"
